Practicing Advocates: Eligible candidates Must possess a Degree in Law of a University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or a State Act or an Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission, or any other equivalent qualification and got enrolled in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu or in the Bar Council of any other State in India.

Training:
Every person appointed to the category of Civil Judge by direct recruitment shall
undergo training for a minimum period of twelve months as may be prescribed by
the High Court of Madras.
Test:
Every person appointed to the category of Civil Judge by direct recruitment shall,
within the period of probation, pass the Account Test for Executive officers.
